Changes of top Names for Carlow | 2007 |
Unfortunately due to unavoidable circumstances Jimmy McRae will have to postpone his first run in the Carlow MkII Escort Challenge until 2008. A deal had been done with Camillus Bradley to supply Jimmy with a car for the event with Dunlop supplying him with tyres. We wish to confirm that Billy Coleman will be driving David James' MkII Escort with son Gordon navigating. Again this car will also be running on Dunlop Tyres.
As an added bonus to this years event, UK's Barry Clarke, who this year contests the Ford Fiesta Sporting Trophy International along with selected rounds of the WRC with Stobart Motorsport has entered the event in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, previously owned by the Late Enda Nolan, the same car which Enda paired with Michael Lester used to finish 21st overall in the Galway International Stages Rally in February. Barry has been kindly given permission by Stobart Motorsport to come and try the Irish Tarmac roads for his first time. Barry will be navigated by local man Ken Blanche.

Official Marshals Training by Motorsport Ireland has been postponed for tomorrow night (Monday April 30th) but will now be held in the Springhill Court Hotel in Kilkenny on Wednesday night at 9pm sharp.

| Jimmy McRae and Billy Coleman will be this years 2 star entrants for the 2007 MkII Escort Challenge. At the moment it is looking very likely that Ronan Morgan will be navigating for Billy in the rally.

Guest Speaker Announced for Launch Night |
We are very proud to announce that Mr.Sean O'Connor of Rally Ireland will be the Guest Speaker at the Launch of the Carlow | 2007 Stages Rally & MkII Escort Challenge. Sean who is a Co-Promoter of Rally Ireland along with Ronan Morgan will be announcing the complete Route Information and details for the week leading up to the rally and the rally weekend itself. Sean will also be available to answer any questions that anyone may have about the rally. So please feel free to come along and bring a friend to be among the first to find out the complete details of Rally Ireland 2007.
The launch will be on in the Seven Oaks Hotel on Thursday night, 5th April at 8pm.

The launch of the Carlow | 2007 Stages Rally & MkII Escort Challenge will be on in the Seven Oaks Hotel this Thursday Night at 8pm. There will be a wide variety of cars on display along with light refreshments being served.
Also we will be taking entries on the night and demonstrating the online entry facility.
Unfortunatly when we were preparing our online entry system we ommited to include a space to submit the name and contact phone number of a marshal for our event. We will however be contacting anyone who has entered so far to try a supply us with a marshal and appreciate your efforts in helping us to run the event. We apologise for the oversight.
